Brympton House

Brympton House is set within 33 acres of glorious parkland and lakes and has a history that can be traced back to the Domesday Book. The House was once at the centre of the medieval village of Brympton D'Evercy but today no traces of the village remain. The main house was built between 1460 and 1680 and is approached by a long private drive. Nestling close to this building is the Dower House which was built in 1350: a grouping that led Christopher Hussey - the architectural writer for Country Life - to describe Brympton as the most beautiful house in England.

In recent years Brympton House has been the setting for big budget films including 'Chocolat' with Johnny Depp and 'Restoration' with Hugh Grant. Most recently the BBC adaptation of Henry James' Turn of the Screw was filmed at Brympton in the summer of 2009 .

Today Brympton House hosts weddings and other events which are relaxed, as informal as you want them to be and fun.

Full details of all we have to offer can be found in our 2010 Online Brochure
