Orangery

Built from the same glowing hamstone as the main house the Orangery is an essential element of any wedding at Brympton House.

Couples wanting a more affordable wedding day option will often choose a weekday Orangery Wedding over a House Wedding as it shares all of the glamour and grandeur of the big house but at a significantly reduced cost. Couples thinking about having an Orangery Wedding will often ask us the same question - Does having a weekday wedding lead to problems and our answer is always the same: Not if you give your guests plenty of notice and choose your day with care!

This advice helps to explain why Thursday is the most popular wedding day for the Orangery option - for the equivalent of 2 day's holiday entitlement your guests will end up with a 4 day mini break in the West Country!

Options for an Orangery Wedding include a ceremony in either the Dower House or the Parish Church of St Andrews (for couples who qualify and by arrangement with the vicar), with a drinks reception either in the Stables Bar or The Grooms Courtyard ( for a supplement couples can add in either the South Terrace or the Great Hall for drinks if they prefer) with a buffet (for up to 200 guests) or sit down wedding breakfast (for up to 80 guests) in the dance floor area. Coffee and truffles are then served in the lounge whilst the dance floor is cleared for the evening party.

Parties are perhaps what the Orangery does best - every wedding irrespective of whether you choose the Orangery or House Wedding option will use the Orangery for the evening party and a quick glance at the facilities on offer will make it easy to understand why; for as well as the Stables Bar - which is fully licensed and which sells a selection of draught and bottled beers - there is a comfort zone with squashy sofas and a dance floor to die for!
